Offered to Consumers Power Inc. residential customers who meet eligibility requirements.

Eligible homes

  • Single-family Site Built (4 units or less) or Manufactured homes.
  • New Construction is eligible.
  • Any pre-existing heat source is allowed, including an old heat pump.

Qualifications

  • Installation of a new, centrally-ducted Air Source Heat Pump is performed by a licensed contractor.
  • The new heat pump must be Variable-Speed or inverter-driven, with documentation of the manufacturer specifications.
  • The contractor provides the new heat pump’s AHRI certificate or reference number (from the Air conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute).
  • The AHRI certificate demonstrates the minimum efficiency requirement.

8.8 HSPF and 15 SEER
or
7.5 HSPF2 and 14.3 SEER2

Rebate: $600

Payment policy

Rebates are paid to the utility account holder or the property owner, if they are not on the account and paid for the project.

Payment to a contractor or another party requires a completed rebate assignment form.

Rebate Assignment payment option: The Consumers Power Inc. member may agree to release the rebate for payment directly to a contractor or another party responsible for the project by using a Consumers Power Rebate Assignment.

Electric Forced Air Furnace Conversions

For customers with an Electric Forced Air Furnace who are installing their home’s first centrally-ducted Air Source Heat Pump, please see the Consumers Power Inc. conversion rebate.

Please allow 8 to 10 weeks after receipt of all required documentation for rebate checks to be issued and mailed.
