Residential Air Source Heat Pump Rebate

Offered to customers of participating Idaho Energy Authority utilities who meet eligibility requirements.

Pre-approval is strongly encouraged. Please apply before work is scheduled.

Eligible homes

  • Existing single-family Site Built (4 units or less) or Manufactured homes.
  • ONLY homes with existing Electric Forced Air Furnace qualify.
  • New residential construction and multifamily buildings are not eligible.

Qualified projects

  • New, centrally-ducted Air Source Heat Pump is home’s first heat pump of any type.
  • The heat pump must be installed by a licensed contractor.
  • The new equipment must be tested and certified by the Air conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI).
  • The system’s AHRI certificate demonstrates the minimum efficiency requirement is met.
  • Please submit AHRI with the pre-approval paperwork. If the system changes for any reason, a new AHRI is required with the final paperwork. If the AHRI was not submitted at the time of pre-approval the AHRI must be received with the final paperwork to finalize the rebate.

7.5 HSPF2 and 14.3 SEER2
or
8.8 HSPF and 15 SEER

Rebate amounts

Non-Variable Speed: $1,000
Variable Speed: $1,200

Payment method

The rebate would be paid to the utility account holder or the property owner if they paid for the upgrade. Payment to any other party requires a completed rebate assignment form.

Rebate Assignment payment option
The IDEA utility customer may agree to release the rebate for payment directly to a contractor or other responsible party by using an IDEA Rebate Assignment.

Please allow 8 to 10 weeks to receive rebate, after receipt of all required documentation.
