Rebates are available to customers of participating Idaho Energy Authority utilities for qualifying efficiency improvements. To pay the rebate to a party other than the customer named on the Utility account requires a Rebate Assignment.
Requirements
- A completed Rebate Assignment must have signatures and dates from the Utility customer and the party who is to receive the rebate.
- The Rebate Assignment must be included with the application when it is finalized.
- If a contractor is to receive the rebate, the final invoice must show how the project’s total cost was reduced by the rebate amount.
- If the application’s final documentation is received without a satisfactory Rebate Assignment, the payment will be issued to the utility customer regardless of any other claims.
Typical circumstances that need a Rebate Assignment
- The contractor provides the incentive directly to their customer in the form of a reduced project cost, and the contractor receives the utility’s rebate payment. This is commonly called an “instant incentive.”
- A landlord owner, property manager, or family member who is not responsible for the utility account paid for the improvement.
Rebate offers may be changed or discontinued at any time.
