Offered to commercial customers of participating Idaho Energy Authority utilities for qualifying air source heat pump upgrades and retrofits.
Eligibility Requirements
- The new unit must be an electric ducted Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP).
- This rebate cannot be used for retrofitting packaged terminal air conditioning (PTAC) units.
- To qualify for the rebate on retrofitted ASHP units, the building’s previous primary heat source must be Electric Zonal or Electric Forced-Air Furnace.
- To qualify for the rebate on upgraded ASHP units, the building’s previous primary heat source must be an Air Source Heat Pump (or a New Construction/Building Addition/Major Renovation project).
- The new ASHP must meet BPA’s efficiency requirements to qualify for the rebate.
- A project can claim both Retrofit and Upgrade rebates if all conditions are met.
- The AHRI certificate for each model installed is required.
Rebate Amounts
Retrofit: $700 per ton
Upgrade: $150 per ton
Please note: Rebate(s) will not exceed 100% of the installed job cost. To calculate the projected rebate, either:
- Sum the tons from all heat pumps installed, then round to the nearest whole ton; or
- Round each individual heat pump to the nearest whole ton, then sum all rounded tons.
Please allow 8 to 10 weeks after receipt of all required documentation for rebate checks to be issued and mailed.
