CECMO Air Source Heat Pump Rebate

Offered to Citizens Electric Corporation residential members for the purchase and installation of a new, qualified Air Source Heat Pump.

Before you get started

New unitary or packaged air source heat pumps are not eligible for a rebate.
The replacement of an existing Ground Source or Geothermal Heat Pump with an Air Source Heat Pump is not eligible for a rebate.
The new equipment must be a ducted Split System unit capable of heating the whole home, not just a portion.
Applications should be submitted within 60 days of the project completion date.
A final, paid, invoice, Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute’s (AHRI) certificate, and Heat Loss/Heat Gain Calculations (Manual J or equivalent) must be included for the application to be considered complete.

Amount: $750 per home

Conditions

For existing single-family/manufactured homes with any of the following:

Electric resistance heating (zonal or forced air furnace)

Natural gas, propane, or fuel oil forced air furnace

Existing air source heat pump

New construction homes are not eligible.

Efficiency requirements

Minimum 15.2 SEER2 and 8.1 HSPF2.

Amount: $1,500 per home

Conditions

For new construction or existing single-family/manufactured homes with any of the following:

Electric resistance heating (zonal or forced air furnace)

Natural gas, propane, or fuel oil forced air furnace

Existing air source heat pump

Eligibility requirements

Minimum 15.2 SEER2, 8.1 HSPF2, COP@5° ≥ 1.75, and the equipment must be Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) approved as a “cold climate heat pump.” You can check their directory here: https://ashp.neep.org/.

Not all NEEP approved cold climate heat pumps meet the program’s minimum requirements and all minimum’s listed above must be met to qualify for a rebate.
Amount: $1,000 per home

Conditions

For new construction or existing single-family/manufactured homes with any of the following:

Electric resistance heating (zonal or forced air furnace)

Natural gas, propane, or fuel oil forced air furnace

Heat pump added to an existing fossil fuel furnace

Condenser coil and furnace must be new and installed as a matched set

Unitary/Packaged systems are not eligible.

Efficiency requirements

Minimum 15.2 SEER2, 7.5 HSPF2, and 90% AFUE.

All rebates are limited to 75% of the total installation cost. Self-installed labor cannot be included in the total project cost.
