Eligible homes
- Existing single-family Site Built (4 units or less) or Manufactured homes.
- ONLY homes with existing Electric Forced Air Furnace qualify.
- New residential construction and multifamily buildings are not eligible.
Qualifications
- The home has an existing Electric Forced-Air Furnace.
- The new, centrally-ducted Air Source Heat Pump is the home’s first heat pump.
- A licensed contractor performs the installation.
- The contractor must provide the certificate or reference number from AHRI (Air conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute).
- The AHRI certificate verifies the minimum efficiency requirement.

7.5 HSPF2 and 14.3 SEER2
or
8.8 HSPF and 15 SEER
Rebate: $1,200
Rebate will not exceed 70% of total project cost.
Required documents
- AHRI information from the contractor is required for pre-approval. Applications cannot be processed without it.
- The final, paid invoice showing the complete outdoor unit model number is required for final approval.
- If the installed model differs from the one in a pre-approval, new AHRI information is required.
- Manufacturer specifications must show whether the heat pump is variable speed/inverter driven or non-variable speed.
Upgrades, replacements, and new construction
Canby offers an Air Source Heat Pump Upgrades/Replacements rebate for projects that are not eligible for the Electric Forced Air Furnace Conversion.
The Upgrades/Replacements rebate is open to homes with any existing heat source, including an old heat pump. New construction homes are eligible.
